Our Adoption Priorities

We feel that each cat has their own unique personality, as do people. So when we look for a prospective home for these cats, the needs of each cat are considered. With that in mind we try very hard to match the home and family with that particular cat. These cats have already had enough trauma in their lives, so by doing this we hope to ensure that it will be a forever home.

Adoption Procedures & Application Information

Click here for H.A.R.T. Adoption Application. We must have a written copy of this on file. We will contact you as quickly as possible. Please keep in mind we all have full time jobs, so this may take up to a week to process. If you have any questions please email us at hartadoptions@verizon.net.

Adoption Fees

Our adoption fee is $100.00 and two kitty fur buddies for $190.00. All of our cats/kittens are current on vaccines, FeLV/FIV tested. If old enough, spayed or neutered. The adoption fee goes back into the rescue fund so we can save more lives.

Transition Into New Homes

We like to bring our cats to their new homes. We have found from past experience this helps make the transition a little easier on the cat. The home handouts we give along with instructions on how to acclimate your new cat to his/her new family and household, including the other cats and dogs already in the home.

We receive calls every day from people who no longer can keep their cats. Most of our cats are rescues from people who are collectors, cats that are strays, and cats that are on death row. Although we are not a shelter, we try to take as many as we can care for, our cats do not live in cages but in our homes or in homes of foster volunteers. Unfortunately we cannot take every cat. We can only take in as many as we can care for comfortably without overloading any one home. If you have an empty room and can help by taking in a cat or two, please contact us at hartadoptions@verizon.net or hartrescue213@yahoo.com. The more fosters we have the more cats we can save and help find a home.

We need fosters for adult cats, kittens, mother cats with kittens. As well as special needs cats: FIV/FeLV positive cats, cats that have been hit by cars and require help expressing their bladders, diaper cats and bottle babies by birth to 5 weeks of age who are without a nursing mother cat.
